Keep Core Windows Operating Data in Main Memory

When you use lots of programs, Windows tends to move some of its libraries and additional data, from memory to the swap file, thus decreasing the performance when those file are required.

You can prevent this by forcing core kernel and essential driver files to stay in the RAM, rather than being shoved into virtual memory on the hard drive.

You should only proceed with this setting if you have at least 256 MB of memory installed on your computer.

Start Regedit by clicking Start, Run and typing its name in the window, then go to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Session Manager/Memory Management.

Double click on DWORD value “DisablePagingExecutive” and set the value to 1.
The setting will be enabled at the next reboot.
