Add search engines to IE7

In Windows Vista and possibly also in Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7 can be configured to use any search engine by adding a few keys in the registry.

In order to add search engines, you must start the registry editor by clicking on Start, Run and typing Regedit in the Run window.

In this example, Google search will be added to the search box.

Go to the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search Scopes

Create a new key and call it as you wish, for example "Google".

Create a new string value and call it "Google.com" and set it's value to:

http://www.google.ro/search?q={SearchTerms}

The {SearchTerms} notation will be replaced by Internet Explorer 7 with the terms of your search.

As soon as you restart Internet Explorer 7, the new record will appear in its interface.
